The updates and enhancements are made for delivering an improved and smoother experience for eligible Americans to receive Economic Impact Payments. As per details, the IRS made certain enhancements and updates to Get My Payment App that last week and continued through the weekend. To facilitate individuals to receive Economic Impact Payments, the IRS and Treasury made several adjustments to the online tool, which introduced on April 15, 2020. The additional changes and updates to App is introduced to help millions of additional taxpayers with new or expanded information as well as access to adding direct deposit information.

We delivered Get My Payment with new capabilities that did not exist during any similar relief program, including the ability to receive direct deposit information that accelerates payments to millions of people. These further enhancements will help even more taxpayers. We urge people who haven’t received a payment date yet to visit Get My Payment again for the latest information. IRS teams worked long hours to deliver Get My Payment in record time and we will continue to make improvements to help Americans. We encourage people to check back in and visit Get My Payment. These enhancements will help many taxpayers. By using Get My Payment now, more people will be able to get payments quickly by being able to add direct deposit information.
The Secretary at Treasury, Mr. Steven T. Mnuchin, shared words on the updates to Get My Payment App and said,
Treasury and the IRS have made substantial enhancements to the ‘Get My Payment’ app to ensure more Americans can get their money fast and track its delivery. This Administration has already delivered over 88 million payments in less than three weeks, with millions more on their way. We encourage people who still need to input their information or want to track their payment to use the app.
